These bottles are hand painted using either glass/ceramic paint or acrylics. The bottles painted using glass paint have a very smooth surface after they are fired. Bottles painted with acrylics have more texture in the paint, they also have a special coating on them that allows the paint to adhere to the smooth, glass surface. After painting, the acrylic bottles get several coats of shellac to ensure maximum durability.
