Project: PPG Supplier Network and Supplier Incident Response

Project Objective: Create an online portal for PPG Purchasing to communicate with PPG Suppliers. The various individuals at separate PPG Suppliers should only be shown applications to which they have access.

The first proposed portal application would allow PPG Purchasing to notify PPG Suppliers of Supplier Incident Response (SIR). The application would permit PPG Suppliers to respond to these incidents online, replacing a manual paper process that takes several weeks to complete.

Approach: A new web site was created utilizing Microsoft Active Server Pages (ASP). Reusable COM components were used to communicate with existing databases for both PPG Suppliers and Incidents tracking. Portal security was accomplished by leveraging the existing AWARE system.

Responsibilities: Assumed senior project management responsibilities for the duration of the project. Wrote preliminary project documentation, project status documentation, and project wrap-up documentation. Delegated and oversaw the interface design, code design, and code development. Maintained all project timelines. Coordinated and participated in all stakeholder meetings.
