A little bit
  about

After 16 years in the high-end interiors industry, Janice Berwin chose to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a full-time artist. She founded JB Artistic to merge her background in design with her passion for fine art, offering original paintings, prints, and custom commissions for both designers and individual clients.

Alongside her studio practice, Janice also developed Cherishable Cardinals, a heartfelt collection of keepsakes inspired by her tradition of making holiday ornaments and her personal experience with loss. While her fine art explores a wide range of styles and subjects, her cardinal keepsakes are designed to bring comfort, connection, and remembrance to those who treasure them.

Today, Janice’s work bridges contemporary fine art and heartfelt keepsakes, guided by her mission to create art that uplifts and inspires. Based in the Saint Louis and Chicago markets, she continues to grow her presence as both an artist and designer.

Outside the studio, Janice is a wife, mother, and wellness enthusiast who loves exploring new creative techniques, spending time outdoors, and dancing. No matter the medium, her hope is to craft work that brings joy, beauty, and closeness to those who experience it.

Let's get

Janice's primary medium is acrylic paint on canvas. She combines infinite dabs of color across the canvas, building texture and depth, standing near and far to create harmonious compositions with incredible detail. She is also well known for exploring various layering techniques and color combinations with the edges of her palette knife and energetic splotches from her brush.

You may wonder, "What's with all the dots?" Or as she prefers to call them "Paint Pebbles" because they are not entirely symmetrical. She comments, "Sometimes my wrist flitches or I misjudge my depth perception and create a new texture, it's all part of the painting cycle for each piece. These compositions are whimsical. They are detailed. They dance. They sit still. Each creation, a delightful surprise!"
